We spent Easter at my parents and had a nice meal and the girls were able to hunt for some eggs. Desiree' sent a sweet package for the kids with fun bunny ears. Our friend Amber came over and gave the kids some eggs with candy and my mom and Charisse made eggs that looked like minions from Despicable Me.
We also had a ward activity at the pavilion where the kids were able to have an easter egg hunt. We basically had candy coming out of our ears. The girls were not complaining though.
The beginning of the month the Kentucky Derby was held. Rodney's parents had a derby party at their house that we were invited to. I went to the dollar store and picked up some hats and flowers for the girls to make their own derby hats as an activity at Grandma and Grandpa's house. The girls really enjoyed designing their own hats.
Right before the race we drew names out of a hat of the horses. Each of us had a different horses name we were cheering on. My horse was Vicar's in Trouble and came in last place so I won a thing of toilet paper for bringing up the end. Pretty funny. The people who got the horses who came in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place also won a prize none of the kids horses got anything. California Chrome came in 1st at the Kentucky Derby and was the Preakness winner. California Chrome was hoped to be the first triple crown winner in 36 years but lost the Belmont Stakes :( We generally do not follow horses or racing but it was fun to go to the derby party.
Got a picture of the kids in their Easter outfits. Aren't they adorable?! I took the following pictures at the entrance to our subdivision.
I die every time I see Aven's cute little expression in this picture.
Went garage sale shopping early on in the month and found this winner. We have a girl that lives on our street that has the same car so the girls like going out driving together.
My Aunt Ellen flew to KY for a visit. She is from Peoa UT. It was so fun having her around. She was also in town for the girls dance performance. Bentley and Paisley were part of Parks and Recreation Kiddie Kapers dance. They met every Thursday evening. The girls perfomed a dance number to the song "

Fun with friends. Our friends Larkin and Bobby recently adopted a daughter from China and they were visiting KY from Delaware so we had a fun mini reunion with friends that used to be in the singles branch together. Jeff and Daphne, Sara, Wyatt and Jill & Josh came out for a bar-b-que. Love these guys! It was so great getting to meet cute Mila!!!

May 13th Paisley had hernia repair surgery. This is what I wrote that day about it on facebook:
"Just got home from Paisley's Hernia Repair. The surgery went smoothly and she is relaxing on the couch watching a movie. I talked to her doctor and they said that she was born with the hernia and it just got bigger as she aged. We noticed it a little over a month ago. Our sweet girl got a bit emotional as they were wheeling her away but she did really great! Thanks to Bro. Philip Koerper for keeping us company and watching over our little girl this morning at the Lexington Surgery Center! And a special thanks toMarlow Marchant, Kristy Marchant and Ellen Thompson for coming over to our house early in the morning to watch Aven and Copper while Rodney and I took Paisley to the Surgery Center. And also a big thank you to Jayne Sproul for coming over to pick up Bentley and take her to school. Grandparents are the best!"
It was so hard when they were wheeling her back for surgery! Paisley started to get really scared and cried but the Dr's said she fell asleep quickly. She ended up going back to school a couple days after and it was a real struggle keeping her from running and lifting things. She is such an active girl!

Paisley has recovered very well from her surgery and only had a few complaints of pain after. What a tough and cute little girl we have!
