Bentley's Birthday--7yrs old!!!

Bentley turned 7 on March the 1st. Weeks before her birthday she requested crepes for breakfast. The day before she wrote me a note and told me not to read it till the next morning before waking her up. LOL!

Rodney made delicious crepes that morning, here are the girls enjoying them.

Bentley's birthday was on a Friday and we told her that she could have some friends over that evening for a pajama party. Normally we let our girls invite however many friends depending on the age they are turning. So, with Bentley turning 7 we were originally going to invite 7 friends. However we weren't sure how many kids would show up so we let her invite all the girls in her class at school and some additional friends. Some people didn't rsvp until the day of so we didn't know how many were actually coming until the last minute.

Here are the invites we sent to her friends:

Bentley ended up having 11 friends and then our 3 girls made 14 little girls running around the house. The girls watched Barbie and the Pink Shoes and ate pizza, popcorn, strawberries and grapes. They also played various games such as tag, hide and seek and freeze dance. None of the parents ended up staying which was nice because I don't think we would have had room for everyone. We ended up taking down the parents names and phone numbers when they dropped off their girls in case of emergency.

Bentley had a specific vision of what she wanted her cake to look like, she drew out a picture and wanted each letter in a different color with squiggles around it. It was the easiest cake we have had to make so far. Rodney frosted it ;)

This shows how much Copper loves getting her picture taken

I didn't get a picture of it, but when the girls were picked up by their parents we gave them each (as a party favor) a plush sheep doll I found at target and a bag of cookies that said "sweet dreams" and the cookies had the letter 'z' on each of them.

That evening after all the girls left we gave Bentley her present. That morning she got the movie Barbie and the Pink Shoes and the book "Interrupting Chicken" (she loves it and thinks it is hilarious). As her 'big' gift she got a barbie set with a slide that sticks into the bathtub. It came with two large mermaid barbies, a small doll and a small dolphin. I found this at Target listed for $40 but was on sale for $23 online. I printed off the online price and took it into the store and they matched it. Awesome! I don't believe kids need a million presents for their birthdays and I knew she would get a lot from all of her friends so we kept things pretty minimal.

Over the next couple days we celebrated with the Grandparents. My parents came over (Grandpa and Grandma Marchant) and we had cupcakes and played one of Bentleys games that she got for her birthday called fibber. It was so cute! It is like BS but with a board game and if you get caught lying and laying down the wrong card you have to add a little thing to the nose on your glasses which makes it get longer and longer.

Bentley REALLY wanted the movie Wreck it Ralph for her birthday but it didn't come out until 4 days after her birthday, so Grandpa and Grandma Sproul got it for her and we got together the day it came out. We met at Texas Roadhouse for dinner...yum!

I can't believe my big girl is 7! Wow, the time has totally flown by. I sure love you Bentley!!!!

What a fun Birthday! I love the pretend sleepover idea. My baby will be 7 in July, they grow so fast.
